“We are thrilled that Volunteer Florida has selected our Professional Clothing Closet as a recipient of their generous donation through their Suits for Session campaign,” said Rob Liddell, Assistant Vice President for Career Services. “Student success is at the heart of everything we do at Florida State. One way the FSU Career Center contributes to that success is operating a Clothing Closet that helps outfit more than 1,400 students each semester with professional attire and advice from alumni, community partners, and staff. Through this significant donation and ongoing support from the community, the Professional Clothing Closet provides students – completely free of charge – building blocks for a professional wardrobe appropriate for interviews, internships, career fairs, and conference presentations. Local partners from the employer community have also donated their time interacting with students – these efforts increase student confidence and result in sustained success.”
“Suit-A-Bull empowers students by providing free access to career-ready attire, boosting their confidence, and ensuring they make a strong first impression at career fairs, job interviews, and in professional settings. By donating, supporters play a crucial role in leveling the playing field, allowing all students to pursue opportunities without the barrier of access to professional clothing. Just last year, Suit-A-Bull provided over 2,700 pieces of professional attire, equipping more than 1,300 students with the confidence and polished appearance needed to make a strong impression, impacting their professional paths. Your donation makes a crucial difference in the lives of our students.” Addye Buckley-Burnell, Associate Vice President/Executive Director
Volunteer Florida extends special thanks to this year’s Suits for Session sponsors: TECO (Tampa Electric), Airbnb, and the Florida Retail Federation. Their generous support helped make this impactful event possible and reflects their dedication to strengthening Florida’s workforce and supporting individuals as they take the next step in their professional journey.
