In March 2017, Volunteer Florida hosted the #SuitsforSession service project to collect professional attire for those in need. One of the recipients of that event was Florida State University’s Unconquered Scholars program. The program, housed within FSU’s Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement, provides support services promoting overall success to students who have faced profound hardships during childhood.

Florida State University students Abdullah Derosier, Jeremy Williams, and Clifford Pierre are all Unconquered Scholars who contribute a large part of their success to the consistent encouragement and guidance they receive from the program.

Volunteer Florida is proud to work with Florida State University to support students participating in Unconquered Scholars. Volunteer Florida spoke with Abdullah, Jeremy, and Clifford about the program, their goals, and the importance of professional attire as they enter the workforce.
